History
The Humanities curriculum aims to cultivate curious, empathetic and critically engaged learners who understand their place in a complex, interconnected world. Through the disciplines of Citizenship, Geography, History and Religious Studies, we seek to empower students with the knowledge, skills and values needed to navigate society with confidence and integrity.

Through Humanities, students explore the world intellectually, ethically and socially, developing the ability to think deeply, speak purposefully, and act responsibly.
History has the power to inspire and enable young people to understand the world around them by exploring the people, events and ideas that have shaped societies over time. Students gain a deeper knowledge of the past, developing an understanding of how and why change has occurred and the impact it has had on different individuals and communities. They learn to analyse and evaluate historical evidence, consider different interpretations and explore the significance of historical sources. History also develops critical thinking, research and communication skills, enabling students to question sources, recognise bias and draw well-supported conclusions. These transferable skills are highly valued by higher education institutions and employers alike.
