Art
Creative minds for creative futuresâ
The Art curriculum aims to equip students with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to be creative learners and apply their skills to the wider world. It is designed to be aspirational for all students, with differentiation through teacher examples and past student work. The curriculum explores diverse artists, movements, and cultures to broaden students’ experiences and understanding of the world.â
The curriculum emphasises skill development, with a clear progression from basic techniques to more advanced practices, building students’ confidence and readiness for GCSE. Regular feedback, including oral and FAR feedback, ensures that any gaps in understanding are addressed, and teaching is adapted to meet individual needs.â
The classroom environment is calm and creative, encouraging independent learning, experimentation, and personal growth. Through relevant and engaging projects, students have opportunities to explore new materials and techniques while developing their artistic skills. Regular curriculum reviews ensure lessons remain relevant and engaging for all students.
