Finding creative solutions for tomorrows problems

Within our curriculum we strive to give students the knowledge, confidence and skills to be creative learners, as well as the confidence to apply these skills within the wider world. The 5 mains skills are research, design, make, evaluate and technical knowledge.

The sequence of our SOWs build on skills each topic, so students are practising and perfecting their skills within each project. This builds up their confidence in skills and work in order to do well in GCSE. We have interesting projects and SOW relating to things around us, we do lots of practical work and teacher demonstrations to engage the students. Building on skills within Technology is the main drive, along with giving students the opportunities to study relevant topics within the world we live in. Student enjoyment within a project is important, so students are engaged and learning. The atmosphere within Technology is mostly calm and creative, where students become independent learners who are engaged and enjoying their work. They have opportunities to use materials and tools not always available to them and enjoy seeing their work evolve.
