Nick PriceWelcome to the Everest Community Academy website. I am very proud to be the Principal of this excellent school and feel honoured to work with such talented and dedicated staff.

We provide an exceptional learning environment and expect every child to work hard, behave well and to show respect and kindness towards others.

I am determined that the school will serve this community well, and be a school that our students and their parents/carers are proud of.

Remembrance Day Assembly

Poelcapelle_British_Cem.07On Tuesday 11th November during lesson 2 we all gathered as a school for our Remembrance Day assembly. It was a very moving event expertly organised by Mr Perfect with readings, a song, historical references, personal reflections and finally, 2 minutes silence. At one point we heard about John Condon, the youngest person to die during World War 1, he was just 14 years old. I am very pleased that as a community we were able to take some time to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

Black History Month Competition

October was Black History Month, and to celebrate the Humanities department ran a House Competition. Students were to pick a black person from History or today who has made a significant contribution and therefore should be remembered. Students were to create a monument either in 2D or 3D to commemorate their chosen person. The winners of the competition are:

1st – Aaron Wyeth, Stephens House
2nd – DJ Turnbridge, Stephens House
3rd – Julie Law, Scott House
