Book Donation

BOOKS

Whilst Chineham and Basingstoke Libraries are relatively close, they are hard to reach for numerous reasons. Everest Community Academy would like to help provide an accessible library for the local Popley Community based at the school opening at various times throughout the week.

Ultimately we aim to offer a lending service as well as a place to do photocopying and access the internet (and have a coffee!).

But we need your help!

Do you have any books you no longer need or use which might be of interest to others of all ages – infant, junior & senior?

We would like to request a book donation/amnesty period running from now up until the end of term – Thursday 17th December.

Books can be dropped off at the School Reception (daytime) or Leisure Centre Reception (8am-10pm). We can also collect if needed – please call 01256 337573. Please support this exciting initiative so we may all help each other. If you would like to be involved (volunteers are welcome) in the project or interested to find out more please telephone the number above.

Year 6 Induction Day

July 8, 2015

Year 6 students have had their first taste of what the Academy has to offer them prior to their official start in September 2015. The Induction day took place on the 3rd July and welcomed the arrival of our new year group with students having an opportunity to meet Year 7 Tutors as well as taking part in a variety of exciting group activities.

Throughout the day students practiced basketball techniques in PE and later tested origami “frog” construction techniques within Technology. Students also explored insects through printmaking processes in Art and Design and solved a demanding CSI mystery within the Science department. All students thoroughly enjoyed the day making new friendships and building strong foundations for a future life at Everest Community Academy.

Enrichment Week

June 17, 2015

During Enrichment Week our normal timetable will be suspended to allow a range of exciting and innovative enrichment opportunities to take place. Whilst these are linked to the curriculum, they are intended to extend and enliven our students’ learning. The theme for the week will be “Being British: what does this mean?”
