Headteacher's Welcome

I am immensely proud to be the Headteacher at Everest Community Academy and it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website. At Everest we recognise the importance of academic success whilst embracing our wider role in preparing students for their adult life beyond the formal examined curriculum.

All students follow Everest Learning as part of their curriculum which focuses on the five strands; Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, Creative Confidence, Global CItizens and Future Ready. Everest has links with the various universities and businesses allowing students to experience different workplaces and learning
environments throughout their time with us.

We recognise the importance of the arts and sport in school and theses are exciting departments within the school. STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) are a driving force for the school, celebrating STEM week with numerous activities taking place across the school.

At Everest we believe in celebrating success and strongly believe that ‘success is an attitude’. With lower than average class sizes and specialist teachers in every area we are proud to be one of the most improved schools in Hampshire with a recent Ofsted rating of ‘Good’. We provide a supportive yet vibrant environment through which we nurture confident, ambitious students who embrace community, tolerance and have high aspirations. We are committed to excellence in learning and teaching, and our priority as a school is to ensure our students achieve more than they thought possible.

Our students are challenged to work harder than they ever have before to fully prepare them for the rigours of the new examination landscape. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum and as a school encourage each student’s particular abilities to ensure that no child slips through the net. The school’s ethos is simple - our students are at the heart of everything we do and we truly believe that every child can achieve. Success is an attitude.

If you would like to visit Everest, then please make an appointment through the school office and we would be delighted to show you around.
