“2013 saw record breaking achievements in French GCSE, with 89% of students achieving an A*-C grade.”

Here at Everest we offer French and German at KS3 and both languages in KS4.

Staff & Facilities

The MFL classrooms are located in B105 and B102, upstairs in the orange block, where we share the corridor with ICT. There are 2 teachers in the Department; Mrs Lisa Snook (Lead Teacher) and Mrs Aneta Heufelder. Both are specialists in French and German.

KS4 Information

AQA is the exam board for both French and German. During Years 10 and 11 students will complete 4 pieces of written and spoken coursework and in Year 11 they take their reading and listening examinations. Here at Everest we have seen an annual improvement in GCSE French results, with our most recent scores being the highest to date – 89%. 2014 will be the first year our students sit the GCSE German examinations. KS3 Information

In Years 7, 8 and 9, Everest students study French and German in order to give them greater choice in their options. They will be fully prepared to succeed in one or both of these languages at GCSE level.
