Modern Languages

Modern languages is taught by a team of two linguists. Teaching takes place in a suite of two rooms, both of which are equipped for French, German and Spanish language teaching. Each room is well equipped with technology including interactive whiteboards.

In KS3 all students will study either French, German or Spanish, depending on the year of intake. All students will then choose one language to continue at the end of year 8, with the option of studying two languages available for the more able students.

As part of the curriculum, the culture and life of France, Germany and Spain is taught to give students an insight on Europe.

Throughout the year the team organises visits and trips which are appropriate to language learning.
